The first foldable e-book reader is officially unveiled!

Ana sayfa / News

While foldable screen technologies have long found a place in the smartphone market, no concrete product has been developed for e-book readers in this field. China-based Readmo was the first brand to fill this gap with its MooInk V model. MooInk V, which has a foldable e-ink screen, also draws attention with its colour screen.

The development process of the device took about nine years. Readmo worked with screen technologies company E Ink in this process. The resulting product is a first in this field with electronic paper technology that can withstand bending more than 200 thousand times.

MooInk V comes with an 8-inch touch screen. Using E Ink’s Gallery 3 technology, the screen works at 300 ppi resolution and can display more than 50 thousand tones thanks to coloured ink capsules.

Meta restricts Apple Intelligence features!

Meta has officially decided to restrict Apple Intelligence features. These features will not be available in Meta applications.

Although E Ink has previously presented foldable e-ink screen prototypes, it was not possible to design a reliable hinge design due to the thickness and sensitivity of these screens. It was also a serious engineering problem to provide resistance to physical pressures that may occur in daily use. With MooInk V, these obstacles were overcome for the first time.

Weighing 225 grams, MooInk V has a robust body made of aluminium-magnesium alloy. Although size information is not shared, Readmo states that the device is smaller than a standard book and designed to fit in a pocket.

Readmo has not yet shared any information about the release date and sales price of MooInk V. So what do you think about this issue? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
